وذكرت قناة العربية أن الشاب سحب العريفي من سترته حتى أسقطه أرضًا وقام بإشباعه ضربًاوخلع الحذاء وضرب على رأسه وانفه حتى سالت الدماء منها، في حين قام آخر بضرب مرافقي العريفي لمنعهم من الدفاع عنه.
جاء ذلك خلال تقرير عرضته قناة العربية لتوضيح التناقض بين أقوال وأفعال بعض الدعاة، ومنهم، العريفي، الذي شارك في نصرة السوريين في مصر ثم ذهب لقضاء الصيف في أوروبا.
وأشار التقرير إلى أن هناك حالة من الاستنكار لدى مستخدمو مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي "تويتر" و"فيسبوك"، بسبب تناقض مواقف بعض الدعاة بين تحريضهم على الجهاد وقضاء أجازاتهم في أوروبا.
وأوضح التقرير أن أحد الدعاة دعا إلى الجهاد في سوريا ورفض أن يشارك أبنائه بحجة أنهم يقومون بما هو أهم من الجهاد، وأن داعية آخر طالب السلطات بمنع أبنائه من السفر للجهادن بعدما عزموا على فعل ذلك.
